There really isn't a cruise ship terminal in Mazatlán.  Cruise ships dock along the side of the port.   There are plans to build a new modern cruise ship terminal, but construction has not yet started on it.

Where the cruise ships dock is close to downtown Mazatlán.  There are tour buses, Pulmonia taxis, and the regular bus available to take people around Mazatlán.  Normally, it is organized to drop cruise ship people off at a number of different places in Mazatlán because no one location can handle thousands of people at one time.

The lines that currently come to Mazatlán are Royal Caribbean, Princess, Carnival, Holland America, and Norwegian Cruises Line.

Currently, the port of Mazatlán can handle up to 3 large cruise ships per day.

2023-11-02 UPDATE: The new cruise ship terminal work has been postponed until 2024 because the port has other priorites.  The existing cruise ship terminal currently handles the current volume.  Work needs to be done to fix up the road to the El Faro Lighthouse and the breakwaters.  There is work being done to beautify Emilio Barragan Avenue which is the main road outside the existing terminal.

2022-07-06 UPDATE: The plan for the new cruise ship terminal is to be able to handle up to 6 large cruise ships per day, up from the current 3 ships.  So, there will be 3 new berths built and a terminal to handle the people arriving.

2022-01 UPDATE: It has been reported that some work related to the new cruise ship terminal will begin in 2022.  It is expected that there will be some dredging and dock/breakwater work done.

Currently, cruise ships dock on the north side of the port.  This is about 10 blocks south from downtown Mazatlán.

You can get to the cruise ship terminal by Pulmonia taxi or by taking the Sabalo Centro bus(i.e. big green bus) which runs from the Golden Zone through downtown then past the port to the El Faro Lighthouse.
