There are many Annual Events that take place in Mazatlán such as Carnival, Spring Break, Easter Week, Mazatlán International Motorcycle Week, Day of the Dead parade.
There are many events that only occur during the main tourist season (November to April inclusive)! We also have a daily live music calendar: 2026 Live Music Daily Calendar) at many restaurant/bars, one-time live music concerts, tribute artist shows, Karaoke, comedy shows, and theatrical events.

Día de los Niños Héroes
Día de los Niños Héroes is a day commemorating the 6 young mexican cadets that fought at Chapultepec Castle during the American Invasion of 1847.
This event took place during the United States-Mexican War which ran from 1846-1848.

Cry of Dolores(El Grito De Dolores)
This is the main celebration in Mazatlán where they yell the 'El Grito' call at 11pm. The El Grito call is the call the Father Miguel Hidalgo made to rally the Mexican to take up arms and start the revolution.
This celebration has bands, music, and dancing starting at 6pm. There will be fireworks and a late-night headline performance after the call.
Cultura Mazatlan usually live streams the event starting at 10pm
Note: The streets around the Plaza Republica will be closed in the morning to allow for vendors to set up.

Mexican Independence Day
There will be parties all over Mazatlán to celebrate Mexico's independence day!
This is a national holiday so government offices and banks will be closed on this day.
On September 16, 1810, priest Miguel Hildago rang his church bell to call together the townspeople of Dolores, Guanajuato to rise up against Spain. This started Mexico's war of Independence. Mexico gained it's independence in 1821.

This is a military and civic parade for independence day.
The parade will go along the Malecon starting at the Fishermen's monument and ending at the Mazatlán Great Sea of Cortez Aquarium

For those Canadians visiting Mazatlan that want their turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day, a number of restaurants in Mazatlan will be serving full turkey dinners with all the fixings.

This is the annual International Carnival (i.e. mardi gras) in Mazatlán.

The Inauguration/Gastronomic Festival is the official opening of the Carnival.
In 2025, most restaurants in the plaza gave away free food samples and there were dancers/music and even the Carnival Queen was there!

Carnival Street Party Carnival
This is the annual event which is a huge open-air street party at Olas Altas.
There are numerous stages set up throughout the area with different bands playing. There are lots of beer and food stands in the area.
In 2023, there were 22 different musical groups and DJs on 11 stages running from the Sinaloa shield on Olas Altas to Avenida Zaragoza along Paseo Claussen. It should be similar in 2025!
Roads in the party area will be closed down from 4pm nightly during this event. There will be an entrance fee, but free bathrooms.

This is the annual Coronation of the Queen of the Floral Games and big concert! There are awards based on literary works.

Bad Mood Burning Carnival
This is the annual event where a giant puppet is burned. The puppet is usually an effigy of a famous person or thing. The intent is to get rid of bad feelings of it from Mazatlán.

This is the annual fireworks show that commemorates the defense of Mazatlán in 1864 from an invasion by the French. It is a syncronized fireworks show.

This is the annual event which is a huge open-air street party at Olas Altas.
There are numerous stages set up throughout the area with different bands playing. There are lots of beer and food stands in the area.
In 2023, there were 22 different musical groups and DJs on 11 stages running from the Sinaloa shield on Olas Altas to Avenida Zaragoza along Paseo Claussen. It should be similar in 2025!
Roads in the party area will be closed down from 4pm nightly during this event. There will be an entrance fee, but free bathrooms.

Cry of Dolores(El Grito De Dolores)
This is the main celebration in Mazatlán where they yell the 'El Grito' call at 11pm. The El Grito call is the call the Father Miguel Hidalgo made to rally the Mexican to take up arms and start the revolution.
This celebration has bands, music, and dancing starting at 6pm. There will be fireworks and a late-night headline performance after the call.

A number of the gringo restaurants in Mazatlán will have Super Bowl parties.
We expect that most of the gringo restaurants, e.g. Friends, Macaws, La Catrina will be showing the Super Bowl game.
NOTE: You should make reservations as these restaurants will be full on gameday!

Macaws in Cerritos will be having a Super Bowl party with all you can eat foot and national drinks, draws and prizes for MX$700 per person.

Carnival Street Party Carnival
This is the annual event which is a huge open-air street party at Olas Altas.
There are numerous stages set up throughout the area with different bands playing. There are lots of beer and food stands in the area.
In 2023, there were 22 different musical groups and DJs on 11 stages running from the Sinaloa shield on Olas Altas to Avenida Zaragoza along Paseo Claussen. It should be similar in 2025!
Roads in the party area will be closed down from 4pm nightly during this event. There will be an entrance fee, but free bathrooms.

Truck Week (La Semana de la Troca) 2026
This is the annual Truck Week put on by the Mazatlan Truck club.
There will be lots(approx. 2000 expected) of customized trucks on displays.
There is also a stage and there will be live music and DJs every day.
Usually on the Saturday at 4pm, there is a parade down the Malecon of all the customized trucks. It starts at Avenida del Mar at Ave insurgentes. It ends at the shield (escudo) at Olas Altas.
