There are many Annual Events that take place in Mazatlán such as Carnival, Spring Break, Easter Week, Mazatlán International Motorcycle Week, Day of the Dead parade.

Solar Eclipse
There will be a total solar eclipse starting at 11:07am(11:09am maximum eclipse) for 4 minutes that will be visible from Mazatlán.
The moon will be in position between the Earth and the Sun creating a complete obstruction of the Sun.
The partial eclipse starts at 9:51am and goes until 12:32pm.
Since the weather in Mazatlán is usually good in April, it should be a good place to observe the eclipse.
It is anticipated that the total eclipse will last almost 4 minutes in Mazatlán.
Do NOT observe with sunglasses even with UV protection. Only look at the solar eclipse with certified ISO 12312-2 glasses!

This is a special show for the solar eclipse.

In May, the temperature starts to heat up in Mazatlán. Most of the snowbirds have left for the season so many of the weekly events geared towards them are winding down.

2024 Mazatlán International Motorcycle Week
NOTE: This event used to always been the week after Easter, but was changed due to the Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024 conflicting.
This is the annual Mazatlán International Motorcycle Week event that takes place the week following Easter Week.
Thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts descend upon Mazatlan for long rides, events, and parties!
Events include stunt rider show, custom motorcycle contest, bikini contest, motorcycle parade, day rides, and concerts. There will also be a welcome party, beach party, and biker forum.
The 'Plaza de Motos' will be in the lot next to the Mazatlán International Center.

For 2023, there will be 22 different musical groups and DJs on 11 stages running from the Sinaloa shield on Olas Altas to Avenida Zaragoza along Paseo Claussen.
Roads in the party area will be closed down from 4pm nightly during this event. There will be an entrance fee, but free bathrooms.

This is the main celebration in Mazatlán where they yell the 'El Grito' call at 11pm. The El Grito call is the call the Father Miguel Hidalgo made to rally the Mexican to take up arms and start the revolution.
This celebration has bands, music, and dancing starting at 6pm. There will be fireworks and a late-night headline performance after the call.

On September 16, 1810, priest Miguel Hildago rang his church bell to call together the townspeople of Dolores, Guanajuato to rise up against Spain. This started Mexico's war of Independence. Mexico gained it's independence in 1821.

Cultura Mazatlán will be putting on the 20th anniversary 2023 Mazatlán Cultural Festival

For those Americans visiting Mazatlán that want their turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day, a number of restaurants in Mazatlán will be serving full turkey dinners with all the fixings.
The busiest are the gringo-owned restaurants, e.g. La Catrina Restaurant and Cantina, Friend's Diner and Macaws.

Carnival Street Party
This is the annual event which is a huge open-air street party at Olas Altas.
There are numerous stages set up throughout the area with different bands playing. There are lots of beer and food stands in the area.
In 2023, there were 22 different musical groups and DJs on 11 stages running from the Sinaloa shield on Olas Altas to Avenida Zaragoza along Paseo Claussen. It should be similar in 2024!
Roads in the party area will be closed down from 4pm nightly during this event. There will be an entrance fee, but free bathrooms.
Tickets go on sale on Feb 9 at 6pm at 6 ticket offices (on streets: Rigoberto Lewis, Sixto Osuna, Constitución, Plazuela de Los Leones on Ángel Flores street; in the parking lot of Sister Cities Park and on Paseo Claussen.

The Golden Zone Market is a local weekly charity market in the Golden Zone area of town that is operated by ex-pats.

Brenster's Beach Bash
The Brenster, aka Brent McAthy, is a Canadian country singer who sings country and pop songs on the beach at Diego's Beach and Grill Restaurant.
This is the 14th season and it runs every Tuesday from October 31, 2023 to end of April, 2024.
This is an 'all you can drink' event, but you can still go for a smaller cover charge if you don't want the all you can drink option.
You can also purchase food. The food at Diego's is really good!
This is a fun event where you can dance on the beach to live music.
Reservations are recommended.
Cost: MX$500 for all you can drink(domestic drinks and beer), MX$325 for all you can drink open non-alcoholic drinks, MX$175 cover only(drinks not included)
