The Great Aquarium Sea of Cortez in Mazatlán (Gran Acuario Mazatlán Mar de Cortés) is the largest aquarium in Latin America.
The aquarium will specialize in the sea life of the Sea of Cortez.
This aquarium is brand new and uses the latest technologies. It will be about 50,000 square meters and cost over 70 million dollars.
The aquarium has 3 floors and 19 exhibits. One tank will have over 2.5 million litres of water.
Supposedly, there are still negotiations taking place with the old Mazatlan Aquarium to possibly incorporate the Sea Lion Show and Penguin exhibit into the new aquarium.
