Franchise History & Origins
The club officially originated in June 2020 following a major corporate relocation tier that suddenly transferred the long-standing Monarcas Morelia franchise over to the Pacific coast.
To accommodate first-division soccer requirements, the state constructed a brand-new, purpose-built 25,000-seat arena. The hyper-modern facility was affectionately nicknamed "The Kraken" due to its sweeping sea-monster design before securing its long-term commercial naming sponsorship as Estadio El Encanto.
The franchise marked its historic first official game on July 27, 2020 during the opening weeks of the national 2020-2021 Liga MX competitive calendar cycle.
